your web. your way.
  • imagine a social platform that's genuinely social...
  • so your interests, your friends, and your community groups take center stage...
  • where you control the algorithm...
  • where privacy is fully respected...
  • where kindness truly is a virtue...
  • where shared videos, news, and calendar events...
  • support the social fabric and real-world relationships you treasure.
  • we're building a decentralised social platform...
  • webbing together communities, groups, and news sources...
  • to form a unified, personalised experience...
  • that provides the "Mary app" to Mary, the "Cormac app" to Cormac, and so on...
  • inspired by the simple but powerful idea that social apps should pull content...
  • based on what's fun, relevant, and interesting...
  • rather than ceding agency to centralised algorithms that push us slop.
(an fyi for curious techies)
  • using an RSS-style (pull) approach...
  • using cryptography (but not crypto) for digital signatures and portable identity...
  • and a privacy-first tech stack...
  • and featuring local-first computing...
  • we will empower individuals and organisations to reclaim agency and dignity online.

Role: Digital Community Development Manager

  • Reporting to the founder, you will have primary responsibility for identifying and recruiting groups who want to offer a rich online community experience.
  • Sample groups might include alumni of a university, subscribers to a podcast or news magazine, or the partners and managers of a venture capital portfolio.
  • Your market research and customer interactions will help refine our product features.
  • Through research, personal outreach, and customer interviews, you will help map the market landscape (the big picture and also the specific account opportunities and contacts), both in Ireland and internationally, and your work will be critical to ensuring product-market fit.
  • You will play a pivotal role in establishing the prosocial, inclusive environment ("be kind") that we want to curate on the platform. Each customer you recruit who shares this vision provides an opportunity to strengthen the social fabric. This is a crucial aspect of our mission.
  • Personable and empathetic; eager to meet new people, hear their stories and challenges, and brainstorm solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate vision and concepts to a broad audience, across multiple media channels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An eager and quick learner, including on new software.
  • Well-rounded; a "Renaissance person" who thinks deeply about the role that tech, the arts, journalism, and culture can play in preserving a viable future.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • You will report directly to the founder, a software engineer with 25 years of relevant experience including a successful exit.
  • Based out of the RDI Hub in Killorglin, County Kerry, you will have access to some of the best tech industry mentors in Ireland. The startup network at RDI Hub also provides a range of social and career development opportunities.
  • This is a full-time position with an initial salary of at least €31,000, commensurate with experience. There is room for robust growth in responsibilities and compensation as we succeed and grow together.
  • To apply, please send a resume and/or LinkedIn profile link plus a short personal note to hiring@beagtech.ie
